In this class we’ll be using the different handbuilding techniques of coil, pinch and slab building as well as several surface decoration techniques to explore the endless possibilities that clay has to offer.   We’ll spend time learning and working with the extruder as well.  You’ll be making a variety of fun and useful pieces.  You’ll work on flat forms like plates and trays, vertical forms such as vases, handled mugs, and jars as well as lidded forms like a garlic keeper or cookie jar .   You’ll use texture, colored slips and glazes to enhance the surface design of each piece.   This class is a great place for beginners as well as those with more experience with handbuilding.  The projects will reinforce good handbuilding practices as well as offer new forms to challenge everyone.   Bring your ideas and desire to have fun. We’ll supply the clay, glaze and firing.
