BEGINNING THROWING

Dates:  TUESDAY EVENINGS 
January 8TH – February 27th  (8 weeks)

Cost: $300  (CONE 6 CLAY, GLAZES, FIRING INCLUDED)

Have you ever wanted to learn to throw on a potters’ wheel? Even if your only knowledge comes from that iconic scene in Ghost, you’ll learn the basics of creating and glazing ceramic forms in this beginning wheel class.  You’ll have plenty of opportunities to work with the instructor one-on-one if you need extra help.  Come learn a lot and have some fun!

BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE HANDBUILDING  

Instructor: Elizabeth Donovon

Dates:  THURSDAY EVENINGS 
January 10TH – February 28TH (8 weeks)

Cost: $300  (CONE 6 CLAY, GLAZES, FIRING INCLUDED)

We will make beautiful, functional and fun pots from slabs and extruded clay. Projects include masks, vases, creatures , mugs,plates, bowls and maybe even teapots. Beginners will quickly learn basic skills and intermediate potters can advance their craft!

THE VESSEL AS CONTAINMENT

Instructor: Chad Augustine

Dates:  WEDNESDAY EVENINGS 
January 9TH – February 27TH  (8 weeks)

Cost: $300  (CONE 6 CLAY, GLAZES, FIRING INCLUDED)

An eight week project course that explores the ceramic vessel as both reliquary and containment for a found object.

Open to varied building processes, we will explore techniques, discuss the nature of objects to convey meaning and have some fun along the way.
